Leakage test
Leakage testing is a condition and function test in which wastewater pipes and manholes are checked for leaks using air or water. This is an important maintenance measure. It helps maintain the value of your property and preserve your insurance coverage. In some municipalities and states, this measure is mandatory. In the event of an undetected defect in the pipes, this can save you significant costs and hassle.

As the operator of your wastewater system, you are obligated to inspect all underground wastewater pipes, access shafts, and inspection openings for damage and leaks. The intervals at which these inspections must be carried out are stipulated in the respective wastewater regulations of your municipality or town.
The required interval and the testing procedure depend on the type of wastewater (industrial/commercial or domestic) and whether your wastewater system is located in a designated or planned water protection area, whether you are constructing a new building, whether your system is being renovated, or whether you are having significant modifications made to your existing system. We conduct tests using various media (air or water) according to the relevant standards and regulations (DIN EN 1610, DIN 1986-30).
Leakage testing serves in particular as
- Proof of receipt submitted to the client, municipality or legislator
- Regarding the tightness after trenchless sewer rehabilitation
- Detection of leaks that are not visually apparent
